What will Barack Obama do for the fashion industry?

Fashion News
Kathleen asked:

I am wondering what Barack Obama will do for the fashion industry specifically. I have heard a bit of news from WWD about him helping out the textile industry in China, so can I get an understandable, fluent outline of what Obama will do for both the fashion and textile industry? Thanks.
Someone asked for source:http://www.wwd.com/business-news/obama-details-textile-policy-stance-1846050
There are also various other articles about Obama endorsing the fashion industry.

We will all be comrades under comrade obamas socialist rule. Our clothes will all be free shapeless grey baggy things procurred at the collectives obama republics outlet store. The lines will be huge, but the price is right.

Obama will limit the amount of money other political candidates can spend on their fashion. As Letterman put it, Sarah Palin thinks NAFTA stands for “Need Another Fifty Thousand for Accessories.”

It won’t matter because if people do not have jobs, they won’t be spending money on clothes, which is currently happening. Money will be spent on essentials.

Free trade vs. fair trade is an ideological question that will be a challenge for the new administration. Lots of countries’ textile industries were destroyed when curbs came off China’s industry a few years ago.

He’ll be focusing on domestic economy first, and primarily looking to keep jobs in the U.S. I wouldn’t expect to see much happen in textiles globally for at least the next two years.

The true patriot is an informed voter.

  • Stiner Says:

Hopefully nothing. There are way more important things on this earth than fashion. This world would not suffer a bit if fashion fell off the face of the oplanet. Some people would have to get new jobs, but the world would be better off without it.
