What is the best gay news/fashion mag to subscribe to and why?

Fashion News
DISCO Strangler asked:

I am not talking about nude mags like Inches, Honcho, Freshmen….I am talking about regular mags about news, fashion, culture and stuff like that there…..I have three in mind, but want to know what you think.

i’m confused…why do you care about fashion magazines when your last question was all about being angry for people saying how other people should dress?

  • JBoy Wonder Says:

I never bother with fashion, I wear what I feel like, and what I think suits me. And I don’t read gay magazines, just magazines.

Oh, you’re mean, to give me a nasty answer to my question because of this!
I haven’t got an ‘attitude’, have I? I didn’t mean to have, I was just being honest. Sorry if I hurt your feelings or something.

Uh-oh, looks like nobody likes me tonight. I’m really sorry, I haven’t meant to offend anyone. I’ll try and come back tomorrow with some sensible questions and answers.

I subscribe to Genre. I think Genre refers to itself as a “lifestyle” magazine for gay men. They generally have stories about what the latest trends are in music, film, books, and fashion. They also have articles about various travel destinations that would interest gay men. Things of that nature.

As far as news, Genre doesn’t really have much in that department. And even though I subscribe to it currently, and have in the past, I don’t think I will renew my subscription. I’m really not that interested in being trendy. But if that’s your thing, go for it.

The Advocate is more of a news magazine – sort of like Time Magazine, but covering things that are of particular interest to lesbians and gay men. I like it much better than Genre. Just depends on what you like.

If you are interested solely in Fashion, there’s a Vogue for men. It’s not really a gay magazine, and it doesn’t really make much of an effort to target a gay readership, and that’s really sort of strange if you think of how many gay men are interested in that sort of thing.

    But it definitely covers Fashion.

And to the people who slammed the guy who asked this question, he said he was interested in culture and news as well as Fashion.

What’s wrong with wanting to keep up with what’s in style, anyway? It’s not my thing, but live and let live. I think it’s better than being obsessed with sex. That’s for sure.
