Why does American media replace the important news with bimbos like Paris Hilton?

Unfortunately, yes, America really does. The news outlets would not be reporting it if there weren’t a large audience for it.
When Paris Hilton appeared on Larry King Live last week, he had triple his usual number of viewers.
Yahoo!’s list of top searches today has Paris Hilton at No. 6. Chris Benoit (a tragedy, but nothing that actually affects people outside of the victims’ immediate families) is No. 1.
Iraq, Sudan, Darfur, Africa, poverty, AIDS — not on the list.

They go for the lurid as a lowest common denominator.
I wish the war had been planned better and not been so PC. Then it would be over and there would be none of this crap.
I don’t care about anything happening in Africa, so I don’t want it on my news.
I don’t care about the suffering of people in other countries. Let them help themselves as we are required to help ourselves.

* Most Americans are stupid because they choose to be so.
* Watching a blond bimbo requires less thought than the real issues.
* I will smile and node my head politely the next time someone starts talking about American Idol like they’re gonna pee all over themselves.
* I will slowly decrease the amount of T.V. I watch so that I won’t be thinking about my brain-dead brethren.
* I will keep the fact that I can see through the mind-numbing illusion thrown over us to myself – as I realize that speaking up about it only hurts me and never changes others minds.

Because we are sick and tired of war and poverty. We have to wait until Bush is out of office to discuss a possible solution.
As far as Africa is concerned, that is a self inflicted horror that no one in all of the past generations have been able to resolve.We cannot cure people unless they are willing to help cure themselves. “nuf said.

Because people like Paris have money and money attracts people and people attract media everything else is forgotten.
