Why on earth is fashion treated so much on the news?

Fashion News

I really hate it when the news runs commentary on what people are wearing, etc. It really got to me during the election to-do. Do they talk about it, because they’re forced to fill a 24-hour news schedule, and the images are “there” for them to comment on, but they just don’t have anything original to say about real stuff, so they talk about what people are wearing? Or do people actually care about such things, and if so, why? But the whole “fashion gaffs” vs. “fashion hits” thing… Is it just me, or has coverage of this increased just recently to an incredibly annoying height? I’m inclined to think that it’s just a matter of journalists needing to have an image to go with a story, and people wear things everyday so… ta da! A news item! But if anyone else knows better, please let me know…

Finally someone with some common sense! I agree. I think that probably it IS to fill time, but I do know some people actually care. Very few, though, I’d imagine. :)

First major network news has nothing to do with what we need to know and is only what they want us to believe. What fashion is used for is filler between the lies. These brain dead media bottom feeders also waste ones time by running stories on 8th grade movie stars as Shawn penn or rosie O’Donnell with their stupid mouths flapping about some liberal cause that a large percentage of the ones watching take hook, line, and sinker. TV makes people stupid no matter what you watch.

What is suppose to be funny really is only real stupid with a laugh track. Take the badbob challenge Stop watching for a month. After the month is up turn on your favorite show. It won’t take long to see how stupid and mindless it all is and is made that way to keep you stupid and ignorant to what is going on around you. Fashion instead of who will pay the $3.6 trillion hole the Democrats are digging.( a trillion seconds ago was over 3,100 years ago) As pin headed pelosi would say “The country wants “real change, and we have come here to make a difference,” Change!? What does this crazy expansion of government, the fast march to Socialism, taxing the air we breath, 2 trillion on carbon tax we all know is a lie. have to do with change for the better. The ones glued to the idiot box believe in change. Let’s eat some grass and watch some T.V. and forget about it Maybe the news will have an interview with the Easter Bunny and show us how to color eggs.

The media is consumer driven, we report what people want to hear about. While there are people out there who do not care about these things, to many people it is VERY important to keep track of fashion trends. Some for their jobs, some simply because fashion is important to them. In my case I have to look “just so” or I lose my job.

That’s one reason why there are getting to be so many specialty news and infotainment shows. If you don’t want this kind of thing, there are programs designed for you.

Frankly, if I have the choice between “NewsHour” on PBS, which I guarantee there will have no fashion segments, and “What Not to Wear,” which I guarantee will have no meaningful news segments, I’m probably going to choose the latter.

Some shows are still very “scattershot” in their content, a little bit for everyone.
