Why does American media replace the important news with bimbos like Paris Hilton?

Everyday when i read the newspaper or flip through the news stations looking for updates on what going on in my world, all i get is the latest fashion mistakes by busty blondes. Why can’t the media focus upon the important news, such as the wars or diseases killing thousands in Africa? Does America really care more about a few bimbos than the people who are suffering in today’s world?
